I long to invest deeply into your family story and view the art I create for your family as a collaboration. I desire to know the memories and rhythms that are particularly meaningful to you right now in this season. Prior to your session, we will connect via phone or email to discuss the memories that your heart longs to remember. In addition, I send a detailed questionnaire for you to complete that helps me connect to the essence of your family and motherhood journey.
The way they carry around their lovey, epic dance parties in the kitchen, the feel of the baby on your hip, reminders of sticky fingers from pancakes on a Saturday morning, bike rides in the glow of the evening sunset. My heart and lens capture the beauty in the details and events that make up your life, because it’s in these moments where the beauty unfolds.
slowing down
My sessions do not have a strict timeframe. I value seeing and sitting in the beauty of your family. My sessions are child-led, slow and unhurried. My heart longs to allow you time to open up to one another authentically in front of my lens. Shooting film allows me the ability to slow down and bear witness to what is unfolding right in front of me so I can capture the energy and connection of your family. The pace of film lends itself to a less frantic, peaceful experience. If the baby is fussy or kiddos are not acting themselves, I allow space and time for their needs.
For planning purposes, you can expect a typical session to last 2-2.5 hours. While this may seem long, I’ve found that the most authentic images we create occur toward the end of our time together after your family has settled into their rhythm and your gaze is fully, lovingly focused on them.
nostagia of film
There is something incredibly nostalgic about images captured on film and viewing your story unfold for the first time. A patience is required that makes the waiting all the more sweet. In a world of abundance, film also gives us the gift of scarcity; because there are a finite number of frames with film, the memories themselves become incredibly more significant and special.
Following your session, I send your film in for developing and processing. Once returned to me in high-resolution files, I carefully curate, edit and finalize the images from our time together. This process can take up to 4 weeks post session. Once complete, I will send you a link to download your gallery and you may print and share like any other digital file.
My heart is for you to have all the images in your gallery. Your story deserves to be complete and I do not have a set number of images I will deliver nor limit the amount that you are able to download, That being said, I shoot 2-3 rolls of film for my regular sessions which allows me a selection to deliver in your gallery.
The work you are doing is holy and sacred.
