In-Home Motherhood Session in Greensboro, NC | Reich Family

Capturing connection and chaos with — the truest art of motherhood.

Mom laughing with her children while bathing their baby in the kitchen sink, photographed on film in golden light during a Greensboro in-home session

This playful and intimate in home motherhood session in Greensboro, NC was filled with so much love. From the way Lia was completely present with her babies to the golden light that streamed through their kitchen window, our evening together was drenched in beauty.

Welcoming Chaos & Presence

Prior to my arrival, Lia sent me a text that I should expect chaos - but she imagined that was part of the experience. I laughed because I love tender, intimate moments but I also thrive in chaos. Both are welcomed and expected during your session.

I texted back, “Be ready to be fully present with your family and we’ll create something really beautiful together”. And boy did we do just that.

In every image I could see Lia pour out adoration on her precious babies: the smile on her face, the contentment in her presence, the gentle, assured way she kissed her baby. She laughed, she played, she savored. It was a delight to bear witness to her motherhood.

These sweet, simple moments of motherhood on film are what we’re after - not perfection, but showing up fully present.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

Before the session, Lia sent me a video of the spaces we would be shooting with the available light. She had spotted the golden light streaming through her kitchen window behind her sink and I knew we needed to time the sink bath for that moment - when the light pouring through was low and golden.

I chose to start with painting, and after assessing the light, we made space near a windowed cove in her dining room. It was the perfect backdrop and allowed soft light to fall across them as they created art together.

As the sun went down and illuminated their kitchen in golden light, we transitioned to the sink for baby’s bath before ending the evening making some pumpkin bread. I moved Lia and her kiddos from one side of the island to the opposite side where the sun was bathing them in gorgeous light.

My desire is to honor your memories and sacred moments while capturing them in the most beautiful way. While you’re doing something with your children, I may suggest you step into a pocket of light, or I may ask you to do something again — something that stirred my heart and deserves to be remembered. A Mother’s Gaze

I believe that a mother’s gaze is the most precious and sacred gift you can give your children. I long for you to see the contentment and joy your babies bring to your soul - the softness of your face and the way your eyes twinkle when you look at them.

This is the gift I want to offer you.
